Hockinson Middle School wants every student to be involved in after school activities. We offer several student clubs where student can connect over shared interests.

If you are interested in starting a club at school, please see the office staff and we can share more about the process for starting a new club.

3:16 Club

The club will be "a place to find love, and develop community, friendship, and a relationship with God". We will meet Tuesdays, from 3:30 to 4:30.

Drawing Club

Drawing club meets weekly and gives students a chance to practice their art skills. All are welcome.

Dungeons and Dragons Club

Mrs. Ruby leads our Dungeons and Dragons club. Stop by for a friendly game.

Girl's STEM

Girl's STEM consists of three different modules designed to get HMS girls interested and engaged in STEM activities outside of the classroom. Girls can join for just one module, or attend all three.

Homework Club

Homework Club is held Tuesdays from 8-8:45am and on Thursdays from 3:30pm-4:30pm in our school library. Drop by for quiet work time or help with assignments. The Homework Club begins during the first week of October.

Jazz Band

Please check with Mrs. Ritenburgh if you are interested in auditioning for the HMS Jazz Band.

Math Counts

Math Counts is a national middle school math competition that builds problem-solving skills and fosters achievement through four levels of 'bee' style contests. Information will be sent home to students in Honors 7/8 Math, Math 8, and Algebra.

Math Olympiad

Math Olympiad is open to students in grades 6, 7, and 8. Students join grade-level teams to practice and have fun competing for medal and ribbons by doing math. The regional competition usually takes place in April.

Rainbow Club

Rainbow Club is a student-led group that meets weekly and provides community, visibility, and support for LGBTQ+ students and allies. Everyone is welcome. Pick up a permission slip from the office if you are interested in joining.

STEM Ambassadors

Show your engineering projects and blueprints at Hockinson Fun Days and at the Vancouver Mall. Projects consist of robotics, bridges, Rube Goldberg machines, catapults, rockets, dragsters, and many more.
