The Saturday Market is getting ready for its second monthly event, which will take place on Saturday, June 12. The Market opened for its first-ever season on May 8th. It was well-attended by Hockinson families and gave folks an opportunity to support their friends and neighbors in a safe and fun outdoor setting. We are looking forward to welcoming you to the Saturday Market again this weekend.
The Saturday Market is organized by Hockinson Community Education, which first began planning for the event early this spring. The idea started as a creative way to use the old Middle School campus that would allow Hockinson community members to connect with friends and family while supporting local businesses and artisans. This is “a great way to bring the Hockinson community together,” said HSD Special Education Secretary Jenny Ristau, who participated in the first market as a vendor.
Saturday Market vendors are local business owners who specialize in a variety of crafts and goods. Some of the items being sold include local honey, pet accessories, jewelry, cards, flowers and plants, and an array of other handmade decor and unique items. More than twenty terrific vendors will be participating in the June 12 market.

District Superintendent Steve Marshall, PWT reps, and students take a moment to pose with flower baskets at the May 8 Saturday Market.
The Saturday Market is a family-friendly event and is open to anyone who would like to attend. Any interested vendor should contact Community Education Director Charity Schadt at charity.schadt@hocksd.org. The Market will take place on the second Saturday of every month through August.
