Jazzercise Group has Big Heart for Kids

Hearts4Kids

Sue Thompson developed her heart for students during her long career in the Hockinson School District. As a counselor, Sue was acutely aware of the many needs of her low-income students and would often purchase items students needed for class, fee-based activities, sports, or personal hygiene. Although she is retired, Sue's commitment to the HSD's students-in-need continues...but this time around she has brought her friends along to help the cause.

In the years since she retired, Sue has strengthened her heart by leading Jazzercise classes at the now Hockinson Community Center. Every February, Sue and her friends show their collective "Heart for Kids" by raising money to support students who need help covering such expenses as sports fees, yearbooks, clothing, and toiletries. This year the group donated nearly $600 and the total from recent years totals in the thousands.

Big thanks to Sue and the Jazzercise crew for showing their big hearts for Hockinson kids!
