Winter Holiday Traditions from Aroun
d the World
This fall, students in Mrs. Teegardin’s second grade class have been studying Festivals of Light from around the world. These festivals include: Kwanzaa, Diwali, Hanukkah, Santa Lucia Day, Las Posadas, and Chinese New Year. Mrs. Teegardin’s class has been reading and writing about the festivals and working with Ms. Miles, Mrs. Ramirez, and Ms. Einerson to explore art and music associated with them. This week, Mrs. Teegardin’s class created rangoli art. Take a look at more of the students' amazing creations on the HHES Facebook page.
Last day of first semester: 1/29
Please be reminded that the end of the semester is only a few weeks away. The last day of the semester is January 29. If your student needs to catch up on assignments, be sure to reach out to their teacher this week to identify work that can be made up over Winter Break.
Stay Safe, Stay Healthy
With the new guidelines released by the DOH yesterday, it is critical that our community remain vigilant in adhering to public health protocols. Please help our community stay healthy this winter break: keep washing hands frequently, practicing social distancing, and wearing a mask when you leave your home. The more we adhere to these guidelines, the sooner we'll be able to reopen our schools.
