HSD Celebrates African American History Month

AAH Month 21

The ethnic profile of the Hockinson School District is predominantly white (90% White, 5% Hispanic, 3% Asian, 1% African American, and 1% Two or More Races) so it is important to provide opportunities that promote awareness, education, and respect in our schools. African American History Month is one of those opportunities. Look for posts throughout the month that will remind us all of the contributions African Americans have made to our country's history and culture.

Our schools and the HSD Equity Committee are working together to make sure our schools are inclusive of all students, regardless of their national origin, race, color, abilities, religion, or ethnic background. While African American History Month is a month-long event, our district's commitments to ensuring equitable access to learning and preparing all students for future success are year-round!
